Based on the decision of the ANAU Board of Trustees made during the meeting of November 6, 2018, the chair of “Data Science” was established through the unification of the two chairs: chair of “Statistics and Biometry” and chair of “informatics and Mathematic Modeling”.
Chair was established in 2002. Since its foundation the heads of chair were Q.Q.Manukyan, A.Kh.Simonyan, docent A.T.Eghikyan, and from 2015 docent H.H. khachatryan is the head of chair. The chair of statistics and biometrics is integrated in activities in the framework of in Bologna educational reform process. Effective tools have been worked out for credit system.
Several lectures of the chair have been trained in European and American universities. With the assistance of lecturers students implement scientific and research works, every year represent reports and papers in various international conferences.
More than 270 articles have been published. In 2010-2015 27 materials have been published for laboratory works. Lecturers of the chair take part in annual conference at ANAU. Syllabuses have been updated according to educational criteria. An interactive seminar has been organized and a film was shown devoted to the 85th anniversary of National Statistical Service. The chair has established close ties with the RA NSS, Ministry of Agriculture, administrative offices of Armenian different regions.Due to equipped computer room implementation of scientific, research processes are carried out much more easier and more often.
