ANAU has launched BioDATA – Biodiversty Data for Internationalisation in Higher Education project. The project is funded by the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (DIKU).

The main objective of the project is to transfer and develop biodiversity data management and publishing modern skills and tools in higher education within interested students and professionals in the sphere of biology, ecology, agronomy and bioinformatics.
The project will have five intensive courses spread over a three-year period in partner universities. At the end of the course all successful participants will be grated with relevant certificates and ECTS credits. The project targeting groups are

On September 25-26, 2018 the kick –off meeting has been organized in Oslo University to discuss and confirm upcoming action plants.
In the first action plan the project announce competition for ANAU students and researchers to have possibility to participate in the intensive course for mentors to be held in Minsk February 18-22, in 2019. The participants will gain practical knowledge on software tools, global biodiversity data elaboration, management and publication standards (Darwin Core, Integrated Publishing Toolkit, etc). The participants will be as mentors to assist and deliver trainings at ANAU. The project covers participation, travel and accommodation costs. The participants must have valid travel insurance that covers medical expenses.
The minimal requirements are some experience with tabular data management and databases, a deep interest in biodiversity data and open data, good language skills in English, a connection to the host institution until end of the project and the ability to travel for all planned events (until March 2021). All applicants must submit a motivation letter as part of registration to outline their eligibility. The deadline is on December 1, 2018.
