The chair was established in 1930. The founder and first head of chair was V.A.Bitzky. Later the chair was headed by L.V.Yakushkin, , P.A. Hovhannisyan,G.S.Grigoryan, A.V. Manasyan.
Since 2010 the chair is headed by Docent K.A. Sukiasyan.
Scientific-research works are aimed at researches of antibiotics, agriculture animals’ and birds’ digestive, respiratory, immune, urinary systems diagnosis and prevention.
More than 1100 scientific articles, 9 textbooks and manuals have been published by the chair staff.
