ANAU faculty members participated in a training course held in Liverpool within the framework of the SMARTI project

From April 2-13 within the frame of Erasmus+ SMARTI (Support to innovative teaching methodology, approaches and teaching tools through English in order to improve the efficiency, continuity and internationalization of education) program  ANAU Vice Rector for International Relations and Educational Reforms Mariam Movsisyan, Head of Career Development and Lifelong Learning Division Liana Vardanyan, Coordinator of the Language Learning Center (self-financed) Garnik Sevoyan went on a business trip to Liverpool John Moores University, UK, to participate in the training course on the creation of educational modules in English as a medium of instruction (EMI).

The modules are developed by the Armenian universities based on the consultation, trainings and materials provided by the trainers of the EU partner universities participating in the program. Within the frame of the project, each Armenian university will develop 2 modules. ANAU is responsible for the EMI Oral Teaching Skills Part 1 and ESP Pathway Program training modules.

The daily courses were interactive, full of discussions. During the trainings, in order to create effective working conditions, the participants were given student status and access to John Moores University freestyle workspaces, library, computer rooms, etc.

On the last day of the training, a representative of each university presented the initial versions of the modules, which were discussed at a round table with the participation of specialists from Liverpool John Moores University and Riga Polytechnic University. It is also planned to develop and publish a manual presenting the 10 modules.
