HISTORY AND OBJECTIVES

The division of automobile transportation was established in 2010. As a result of recent studies, a number of normative indicators on the ecological characteristics of atmospheric air in Yerevan have been developed. The research work of the department is aimed at the development of a new concept of determination and regulation of the fuel consumption of commercial vehicles, based on the driving modes in mountainous areas of Armenia. Technical and organizational measures for the fuel economy are being developed to apply in production.

The followings are already developed

• Gas flare consumption norms according to characteristics and operating conditions for Yerevan city passenger carriages,

• Route surveys of suburban and long-distance routes have been performed and key indicators have been removed for further development,

• Analytical expressions for the calculation of operating costs of gas-fired fuels have been developed according to operating conditions.

K. Mosikyan,  candidate of sciences, docent,  is the head of the department. Professors N. Bzikyan, docents V. Harutyunyan, M. Barseghyan, laboratory assistant M. Papinyan are also involved in the activities.
