History and Objectives
The research center for veterinary medicine and veterinary sanitary was established in 2005. Since the day of its establishment to 2016 the center was headed by S. Grigoryan. Now the center is headed by H. Naghashyan, doctor of sciences, professor.
The main goals of the center activity are
- to study infectious and non-infectious diseases of agricultural animals and birds,
- to develop treatment-preventive measures
- to study food benevolence and food safety in the consumption market.
The experimental research center of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Sanitary of Armenian National Agrarian University is the only scientific institute.
Scientists, lead researchers, candidates of sciences, V. Abrahamyan, A. Vardanyan, K. Sukiasyan, M. Sargsyan, V. Grigoryan, A. Mkrtchyan, F. Adamyan, Zh. Melkonyan and researchers L. Grigoryan, A. Hakobyan, G. Hambardzumyan, G. Petrosyan, S. Altunyan, D. Balasanyan – from the faculty of Veterinary medicine and animal husbandry are involved in the researches of the center.
During the last five years, laboratory assistants have done huge work on veterinary medicine and veterinary sanitary, especially diseases of agricultural animals and birds expanded in the Republic were studied and treatment methods were developed.
Works were done on discovering and developing measures for preventing infectious and none-infectious diseases of agricultural animals and birds.
Results of scientific researches conducted in 2006-2018 were published in international and local scientific journals and were presented at different conferences.
The basic laboratory was renamed into Research center for veterinary medicine and veterinary sanitary upon the decision taken by the Board of Trustees on November 6th, 2018.
