The Chair of Milk Technology of Yerevan Veterinary medicine and animal husbandry Institute was established in 1968. The chair was headed by T. Gabrielyan, then the chair was V. Tumanyan.
The chair of leather and fur and the chair of food industry equipment were established in 1995 separately. The first chair was headed by S. Margaryan since its establishment. In 1998 the chair of food industry equipment was renamed into the chair of food industry equipment and packaging technology. In 2000-2005 the chair was headed by S. Shaqaryan, in 2005-2007 – L. Toqmajyan, docent.
In 2007 the chairs of leather and fur, food industry equipment and packaging technology were unified and in result the chair of Food industry equipment, packaging and leather, and fur was created. In 2007-2010 the chair was headed by S. Margaryan. Since 2010 A. Beglaryan, doctor of sciences, professor, has been the chair.
Upon the decision of Board of Trustees made during the session on November 6, 2018, the chair was renamed into the chair of Food industry equipment. There are two general labs in the structure of the chair.
200 scientific articles, 3 monographs, and 4 academic manuals are published by the chair. Many copyrights and licenses are given for inventions.
Students periodically take part in different international expeditions and competitions and have won 15 international prizes.
