The Agrarian Policy and Economic Research Center has been operated in the ANAU Department of Science as a structural unit since December 30, 2012 being financed by the RA state budget ("Scientific and Technical Infrastructure Development and Maintenance"). The director of the center is docent Mr. Ashot Voskanyan.
Actually there are 20 researchers involved in APERC research projects. 4 of them are doctors of economic sciences, 10 candidates of sciences and 7 applicants and a specialist.
The Agrarian Policy and Economic Research Center researchers carry out research on the following topics:
1.Improvement of the Instruments and Mechanisms of the Agricultural State Regulation Policy (Head of research, S.S.Avetisyan). The aim of research is to present the most effective instruments of the agrarian state regulation policy and their implementation mechanisms taking into account the analysis of the international experience and current conditions of the RA agrarian sphere.
2. Development of the Mechanisms for the RA Agricultural Risk Assessment and Insurance System Implementation (Head of research, A.Ye.Voskanyan). Research aims at developing particular mechanisms for the RA agricultural risk assessment and insurance system implementation taking into account the international experience in this field, agricultural risk assessment methodology and agricultural insurance system implementation challenges as well as presenting ways for overcoming agricultural insurance implementation barriers, calculating insurance rates, choosing the types of government assistance, defining the amount of subsidies, etc.
3. Creation of 2014-2024 Project of Agricultural Cooperative Development (Head of research, H.S.Javadyan). Research aims at creating cooperative development projects in order to use the small farm soil, water and labour resources efficiently, to promote sales, and to develop credit and insurance systems.
About 20 scientific articles have been published by the staff of center. Besides all the mentioned activities, the APERC constantly organizes debates, seminars and public lectures about the urgent issues regarding the RA agrarian sector management and it is to develop cooperation projects with relevant foreign institutions.
